General
Not at all. Dance Garden classes and workshops are designed for all bodies and backgrounds. Movement is explored in ways that are accessible, playful, and responsive, with no expectation of prior dance training.
That’s very welcome here. Children are supported to participate at their own pace, with choice and agency built into each session. Watching, resting, or moving quietly are all respected ways of taking part. Parents and carers are welcome to remain in the space if your child needs your support, and we can work together to help them feel safe and settled.
Comfortable clothing that allows easy movement is perfect. Bare feet are encouraged. Please bring a water bottle.
For children, we ask that jewellery is removed and long hair is tied back for comfort and safety.

Absolutely. Many adults come to Dance Garden seeking a gentle, expressive way to reconnect with movement. You’re invited to move in ways that feel supportive, meaningful, and enjoyable.
Creative Dance classes focus on expression, play, imagination, and enjoyment of movement. They are open to individuals and groups who want to explore movement in a supportive, non-judgemental environment and do not involve clinical assessment or therapeutic treatment.
Dance Movement Therapy (DMT) is a therapeutic service facilitated by a qualified therapist and involves working intentionally with movement to support emotional, psychological, and relational wellbeing. DMT sessions are offered separately and clearly identified as therapy.
